Craps
Craps is a relatively simple game, but can appear off-putting to new players who don't know their snake eyes from their seven outs. Essentially, the main aim of Craps is to beat the house with a roll of the dice. Most players place their opening bet on the "Pass Line". Then, the shooter (whoever is in charge of rolling the dice, this can be anyone at the table) rolls the dice. The numbers on the dice affect whether you win or lose and your first roll is known as a "come out roll".
If you roll a 2 - 3 - 12 on your come out roll then all the players lose their bets, incidentally the 2 is known as snake eyes, because of how the dice looks when it's rolled. If you roll a 7 or 11 on your come out roll, then all players beat the house. Finally, if you roll a 4 - 10, 5 - 9, or 6 - 8 then you have rolled a "point number" and to win you have to roll the same number again. For example, if you rolled a 5 on your come out roll then this is your point number and you will win your bet if you roll another 5. However, to make things difficult for players, after the point number has been established then the 7 can no longer help you win and will actually cause you to lose if you roll a 7, this is known as "seven out".
Another popular bet in Craps is the "come bet", which can only be placed after the Pass Line bet. If the shooter rolls a point number then you place your come bet after this, then your come bet is on the next number the player rolls. Basically, if the player rolls a 10 on the come out roll, then this is their point number. If the player then rolls an 8 and you placed your come bet in between the come out roll and this current roll, the number you will win with is 8. Come bets follow the exact same rules as pass line bets; if the player rolls a 7 or 11, you win, if the player rolls a 2 - 3 or 12 you lose.
Both the pass line bet and come bet have their opposites on the table, the don't pass bet and don't come bet respectively. The don't pass bet is completely opposite to the pass bet; rolling a 7 or 11 will cause you to lose, a 2 - 3 will cause you to win and a 12 is a draw. If the player rolls a point number, then you will lose your don't pass bet if they roll their point number again. The don't come bet is when players bet that a 7 will be rolled before players can uncover the point number. Essentially, both the "don't pass" and "don't bet" bets are just the opposite of their "do" bet counterparts.
