2010 iGB Affiliate Awards in London

The iGB Affiliate Awards were held in London at the end of January 2010. The event was black tie and brought out all the leaders in the online casino industry. They celebrated the best in the business with the prestigious awards and had an opportunity to network with operators and other industry insiders from all over the world. For the first time, the Affiliate Awards were streamed live online so that anyone who could not make it to London could still watch what happened live. There were 23 categories and more than 4000 people voted for their favourites. There were the usual categories for online casinos but also several specifically for online poker, online sports betting and online bingo. European operators did particularly well having picked up awards such as Best Casino Affiliate, Best Casino Affiliate Manager, Best Payment Systems and many others. Software providers Microgaming and Playtech each picked up awards for their roles in online gambling. A booth for Haiti relief was also set up throughout the conference centre with Affiliate members making their donations directly to Oxfam. They are encouraged to continue to do so after leaving London. The online gambling industry has done well for Haiti raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to help survivors get the basic necessities. With another iGB Affiliate Awards ceremony behind them, operators have vowed to make outstanding contributions to online gambling that will hopefully lead them to be recognized at next year’s awards.
